The Most Serene Spots in Japan

Introduction

Oftentimes we get caught in the hustle and bustle of vacation and this means long lines, crowds, and wait times that will drive you near insanity by the time it is all over. Well… I have a remedy to your travel woes if you go to Japan. Serene spots seem to be far and wide, few and between unless you know where to find them. As Japan has become a popular tourist destination in the last couple of years, people have surged to this country to manifest their childhood dreams.

Korakuen Garden

Kanazawa has an abundance of beauty, food, and serene spots that would satisfy your wanderlust long after you have gone. Speaking of such, taking the time to admire the garden in itself takes an act of patience. Korakuen Garden

Wada Houses

The Wada Houses in Takayama is another serene place I would recommend if you want that Edo period serenity. The Wada Houses in Takayama makes you feel like you’ve turned the page in the history book. It’s almost as if you have become part of history itself like someone is narrating your steps as you walk through the houses and uncover the history of the famous 3 houses. This serene spot engulfs you in nature and callbacks from the past from a time that once was.

Ishiura-Jinja Shrine

Kanazawa is the gift that keeps on giving. The Ishiura-Jinja Shrine has proven that hidden gems in Japan are meant to be found. Walking through this shrine makes you feel like you are being baptized while walking through the prayers of the many “EMA” in plastered to the shrine. It’s almost as if good vibes and well wishes remove the hate that’s in your heart. They also have an Inari shrine that is awesome to walk through.

Higashibetsuin Temple

At this point, Kanazawa should be a must for any traveler as this place has so many nooks and crannies to explore and the best part is that these places aren’t overcrowded from tourism. I didn’t plan on going to this temple as Higashi Chaya district was my main focus, but I happened to stumble upon this temple and I was able to get not only some prayer time with myself, but able to soak in the vibes of the early morning.
